Fundi`s party was incorporated by the CHERD Africa LTD management as a way of appreciating the skilled, and unskilled personnel and subcontractors who have worked for the company. This is in regards to showing that the company recognizes the small efforts put in by everyone daily to ensure its growth.
The party was started in 2020 and is usually held annually and the best casuals are treated to sumptuous meals and refreshments. Since its incorporation, the event has even grown bigger to include awards.
The event is funded by the management led by our esteemed Chairman Dr. Martin Matu and C.E.O Dr. Esther Ndonga but organized by the fundis. During the event, every sub-contractor and their personnel are given a chance to give brief remarks on how the work has been, the challenges they have faced, and their expectations for the future. This also serves as a bonding session with the CHERD management as such interactions paint a clear picture of the areas the company needs to improve on and boast of the areas, they receive compliments on.
Our recent event was held on 24th September 2022 from noon at our ongoing project, Pinebrook Premier Villas, which comprises three- and four-bedroom flat-roof villas with DSQ. The event was a success where the casual and everyone who attended was treated to great entertainment, delicious foods, and other delicacies.
The MC for the event was Mr. Ogeto. The event began with a summon and a praise song from pastor Joshua and our technical head of department Miss Terry Nyambura respectively. It was followed by entertainment by Henry and a brief session of introduction and remarks from the fundi`s, CHERD staff, and the directors.
After which an awarding session followed suit and the various categories for awarding are depicted below;
- The best sub-contractor- won by Kennedy Njoroge our welding sub contactor.
- Longest serving sub-contractor won by Peter Mwaura who has been with the company for more than a decade.
- Second best sub-contractor won by Joseph Muli our exterior painter.
- Third best subcontractor won by Peter Mwaura our interior design and cabinetry sub-contractor
- Best skilled won by Geoffrey Sambili who is a mason.
- Best unskilled won by Joseph Mwangi our landscaping person.
The winners got away with cash prizes ranging from Ksh 5,000 to Ksh 15,000 in addition to non-cash prizes.
The event ended with a cake-cutting ceremony and a photo session led by those who were awarded and everyone got a piece of the delicious cake.
Our next event will be held upon completion of phase two of our ongoing Pinebrook Premier Villas and it will be bigger better and bolder having many awarding categories, games, entertainment, and much fun.
